While looking at a rough draft chapter from her Cape May Cozy Mysteries, Jeff and Jane talk about keeping the reader engaged by staying in the dialogue, using verbal ticks to enhance emotional resonance in the dialogue, using repeated scenes in your story, and having characters play off of one another.
